Two Trips--One Into The Unknown--The Other Known

A while back I made a trip to an unknown destination for a family that was relocating. I had met the adults outside a hotel while I was delivering food inside. What I didn't realize is that they had 3 kids that were going along for the ride too.

We started out toward Atlanta, Georgia. For an hour and a half we went in this direction. Then the Mrs. asked me to pull over and change direction for North Carolina--Raleigh to be exact. Changing directions in the middle of the trip was not my first choice, but I did it because this is where THEY decided they need to start over. They had already called a hotel and made a reservation. I pointed my GPS in THAT direction.

It took a couple of hours--we entered Raleigh just about the time it was getting dark. .

The first hotel was a bust.

So we went to another one a few miles down the road.

They had paid me half before we started--knowing that had changed--was a sinking feeling. But, I kept going. The second hotel took them (and the things they brought with them (that all fit in my van). Their only problem with me was I made to many stops to get gas--all of which were needed.

They paid me the other half--which would have been about the same (luckily) and I started for home.

I stopped almost immediately at a Baskin Robbins and got some Ice Cream.

My next stop was .hours later at a Wendy's. I got dinner and laid down on the floor of my van and took a nap.

The rest of the trip was one shot , all the way home. I slept for most of the next day.

But, the fee they paid me made it worth the drive--and the gas I used.

Another short trip I made was to the Roller Skating Rink in town. I fit 6 "Adults" in my van.

We started out before it got dark. And, I waited for them while they were having fun. Then I drove them back to their apartment development. I had been paid half before I started and was given the rest before I started on the way home. There were no changes in this trip. And, as far as I could tell, EVERYONE had fun...We got back a few hours after it got dark.

These are just 2 examples of rides I've given to various different people...

If you need a ride somewhere--text or call me at (813) 340-7103

Don't forget about the Photography or Writing about the event for posterity...
