Sunday Morning (#961)

I got up later than usual this morning. Theresa woke me up when she went into the kitchen…(Yes, I leave my door open when I sleep)
Waiting for fan (shaking) and thermostat to be fixed.
I ran the dishwasher—everything that wasn’t nailed down—2 loads—first with all the things I usually use and the second anything else I could find to wash.
Then I threw in a load of laundry 🧺 including my hats.
I’ve been watching Hallmark Channel all morning…First Feeling Butterflies then The Wedding Cottage and whatever good movies they show on Sundays. These are two favorites and Sunday is usually a day to play hits.
Theresa and I have divided up the fridge and freezer and what sides our stuff is on.
I helped her get in her Gatorades in the fridge so they would be cold by today.
I had to teach her not to use the sink while the dishwasher is going—she put her dirty water into my dishwasher mix. I wasn’t angry—I just corrected her for next time.
Like the dishwasher running I started the laundry after the dishwasher was on dry.
Running the dishwasher and the clothes washer at the same time would be bad. I told her this too.
She has trash to go out—but we already have the requisite 2 bags ready to go (big bags) & a couple of boxes 📦 once they’re taken apart. I offered to help her break her box down if she couldn’t herself—my two boxes included.
Then she took out a bottle and washed off the stove. She was going to use her own towel—but I stopped her and had her use my paper towels 🧻 I’ve still got 4 rolls besides the open one that I handed her…
She then wanted to clean out the sink and I told her to wait until I took the things washed in the dishwasher were taken out.
There is a learning curve—and I’m letting her in on it.
I picked to do my dishwasher stuff after she got her stuff out. And, she did laundry yesterday—so it is/was my turn.
I taught her to close everything after she used it. The big one was the washer—she used it yesterday and left the lid open (that’s how I found it this morning) I have tried to tell her to close things when she’s finished—Gatorade, water bottles, anything in the fridge or freezer…
And, I know how my mom is about taking a shower—but I refuse to take one when the thermostat keeps it at 79. I would get out of the shower and immediately be wet again.
I’ve tried to get maintenance here—that’s all I can do…
Theresa and I ate getting along—I’ve been teaching her things over the past few weeks—and she learns too.
