Theistic Agnostic

I’ve been thinking about making a change for a while, I don’t talk about Hanukkah except around family. Christmas is my default.
I believe there is a God. That’s the Thesism. I’m not sure if there is one because I can’t prove it with my own eyes. That’s the agnostic side.
One of the stories that Dad told me a couple of time is how Grandpa was in the Navy and they belittled him until he admitted he was Jewish—they didn’t give him the promotion he should’ve gotten…And, Dad’s story about not catching himself when his new boss made a snarky comment about Jews…He lost his job.
I am changing my religion to something that I can get behind—but knowing full well if someone went and questioned me I’d give it up.
So, I’m not changing what I actually think—I’m changing what I call myself to other people.
When I’m with family I’m Jewish—when I’m out in the world I am a Theistic agnostic.
