Sister Heal

I called Sam earlier and got her voicemail—she called me back after reading the Read Or Go To Hell Rosebud Bloom entry.

She calmed me down by reminding me that my parents are 77 and are NOT GOING TO CHANGE

After Dad’s back surgery Mom dropped him off at Sam’s while she got her hair done. Dad got a change of scenery and berated Sam the whole time he was there—She said he wouldn’t let her talk.

We both know it’s going to be a shock to the system when one of them finally expires…They love each other—they’ve been married for over 50 years and life is going to be Hell for the one left.

I feel sorry for them because I’m their daughter—but also emboldened by Sam’s view of how they treat us…Not badly—they’re good people and raised us right—but except for their love of each other over the love of their children—and the love they have for my niece—their grandchild.

Sam says she gets passed over all the time—and she did everything right—got married and gave them a grandchild..

Suddenly I don’t feel as bad—I don’t have to CC Mom on my blogs anymore—I don’t have to call them in the morning to see how they are.
