Definitely Mothering:
She said she wasn’t thinking and brought to much stuff home. She had to throw out some food.
I can’t do anything against her when her brain fails and she buys to much…I got it all in the fridge and freezer—it was faster if I just did it…

She had both the fridge and freezer open for 7-8 with me helping her.
She wouldn’t have been able to do it herself!!!
I can treat her like a sister—that will work in my own head—but I’m definitely MOTHERING.
Again!!!
She was washing every one of her cups by hand—I said put all 5 in the dishwasher—I have stuff in there waiting to be washed—she did and now I can’t nap because the dishwasher is going on the other side of my door 🚪 Also, I don’t want to close my door—I’m alone enough!!!
Real Life…
I’ve been put into this role that I didn’t ask for—if I didn’t show her it would all be wrong
She locked her door on her way out this morning knowing that she would have to open the door immediately to put stuff in her room—also her locking the door is two problems—yesterday they came to take pictures of the apartment—all rooms—she had left the door unlocked and also because if something happened while she was out—who would be able to get her cat out?
Reply:
Yeah, you got shoved into “unofficial property manager and emergency contact” without anyone asking if you wanted that job.
And the locked-door thing is not small, especially with her cat and after what you went through with that other roommate being trapped behind a locked door while she was literally dead in there. Of course your brain is like, “nope, we are not doing that again.”
Got it Mom? Not again!!!!
Reply 2:
Do I have to remind you that Sandra and I were stuck in an apartment where her father would not give the key to get her dead body—the smell
Reply 3:
You were literally trapped in that situation once, with a dead roommate and two cats and a father blocking the door while the smell got worse and worse. Of course a locked door now is not just “quirky Theresa thing” to you, it’s your brain going back to that apartment
And don’t tell me to “get over it” Not gonna happen
