New Year’s Morning

New Year’s Day at 5:54am—What am I doing up?

Well, I’ll tell you all about it…

Last night I fell asleep easily and woke up today to go to the bathroom at 3am—if it were any other day I would’ve gotten up. But, because it isn’t—I went back to sleep and woke up at 4:45am—then I fell asleep until my current awakeness…

What do I want this year to bring?

More quiet (Me) time…Last year I felt like I was running on a Hampster wheel and I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) get off.

There was entirely to much news!! I’m going to find better outlets for my time—I’m not saying that I won’t watch the new—just less of it. I have my music—both phone and Alexa; I have Audible; I have The Great Courses—which I’m gonna take a swing at; Couriosity Stream—I forgot exactly what that is—but I still have the app so I can find out again.

I don’t DIY—Do It Yourself. I can say Scootch Tape is my friend because every wall in my bedroom and the common room is COVERED with things that have been printed out at some point…

I have plaquards and metal that say words of wisdom…I’m not exactly sure—but the fact that I have a lot of shit and the way I converse with The Social people—is the reason I don’t have a roommate—all good in my book!!!!

To say I journal a lot is only a half truth—if you let me I’ve journaled from the time I get up to the time I go to sleep detailing EVERYTHING…With something in the background—TV or Music—I can get a lot written…

This morning is early and I have nowhere to go—so I haven’t engaged either one yet…The silence is deafening—but I’m starting to realize that these moments of pure calm come few and far between.

My best days are when I get an early Spark at 5:15am and then GET TO WAIT for the building to open up at 6am—quiet time—letting the world just go by…

So if someday you ask me why I get up at an ungodly hour I will tell you “Those 40 minutes”…

Usually I’m not COMPLETELY alone—there are people around and I do say Hi and wish them a good day—but during that 40 minutes they are the exception not the rule.

The news has always been in the background of most of the things I do because I know the channel—41–MS NOW—and the hosts. I have a pretty good idea what questions they’re going to ask—when I listen to the answers…

I’m usually watching the news because Hallmark Channel has had a dud on. I can honestly say I like most of their movies—but around Christmas time it can get to be to much—I DONT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS!!!!

My music can tide me over most times: there’s Sirius XM 80s on 8—there’s Z105 or 104.7 that’s an 80s station; and the. there’s the RoadWarrior Mix—wether on shuffle or not makes a BIG difference…I stopped Spotify and Pandora because I just didn’t feel like paying for them anymore.

I’ve been talking about what I want in the next year—but have not addressed the elephant in the room—my finances…Last year I barely kept ahead—and some would say I didn’t—but I got pretty damn close!!

I hope this year is filled with Sparks, Roadies and Ziftys. Last year I lost 3 jobs because they weren’t right for me—so I side hustled and at least withe the Sparks made $10,400…At tax time I’m going to have a meltdown because I made to much this year—the Sparks I kept track of down to the cent. The other jobs and side hustings will be made known by the end of January—early February.
