I Didn’t Write Yesterday

Yesterday was the 2nd day of two separate Draivers. Both were kinda blah days—but everything—driving from Jacksonville to Tampa and Tampa to Sarasota then to Jacksonville and then back to Tampa…

I was paired with the same Chase Driver and one person both days—Thursday we had a third.

Thursday I finished fast and waited for everyone else to get there.

Yesterday I was the one that was late. My truck wouldn’t go over 56. There is probably a notch in my shoe where I’m trying to go through the floor to make it go faster.

Except for a bathroom break closer to home—it all went pretty quickly.

P.S. On the way home from Jacksonville on Thursday we as a car were stopped (at a rest area) because the driver slowed down. No ticket—just a warning about his car—-yes the windows were to dark—but that’s how he bought the car. It also keeps it cooler.

The prevailing wisdom was he was being a dick and pulled us over because chase driver decelerated and there were four heads in a car being driven by a Spanish person—racial profiling?

It reminds me of the first two nights I lived at 4050–they stopped me two consecutive nights—I can’t think of anything besides racial profiling because I was to old to be a student—but they saw where I came out of—and all my magnets…

I came home both days and was tired but didn’t fall asleep until it was dark.

Thursday morning I set my alarm for 4am and ended up waking up and asking Alexa what time it was at 3;59am…I was supposed to meet up with chase driver to start to Jacksonville—well I got out at 5:45 instead of 7—that’s why I was early…I got the truck I was driving to get from 65-72mph—I was CLOSE to the floor…

I woke up at 4:15am yesterday and was out by 5am 🕔

I met up with Chase driver and other hiker and we had to wait because someone assigned him a Penske car—which didn’t happen—we left when Draiver gave him permission to drive his own car AND how much they were going to pay.

The only big difference in days was Thursday I sat up front and the 2 gentlemen sat in back.

On Friday I was relegated to the back seat—but since there was an empty seat I got to stretch out.

I was actually happy about sitting in the back.

The chase driver was trying to learn English by listening to music—and like mine—you could understand every word—I liked his music—even when he turned to Spanish. Both 4 hour drives were livable and I got a lot done on Cleo and when I got paid by Draiver/Branch…

I finished with my last touches a few minutes before were got back to Penske.

Also yesterday even from the backseat and the music on—I was able to make a call to Mom after 8am—I explained everything and then he put the music back on—and we kept going.

The day ended with him pulling into Penske while scrolling on his phone—kinda screwed up way to listen to everything from English and Spanish to news and video—it was fun 🤩
